The Georgetown Hoyas and the Loyola Marymount Lions meet in college basketball action from the Montero Bay Convention Center on Friday.

The Georgetown Hoyas come into this game looking to bounce back from a 75-63 loss to Northwestern last time out. Primo Spears leads the Hoyas in scoring with 23.7 PPG with 5 APG as well while Brandon Murray has 14 PPG with 4.3 RPG and a team-high 6 APG to lead the Hoyas in assists this season. Jay Heath has 13 PPG with 4 RPG while Qudus Wahab has 11.7 PPG with a team-high 8 RPG to lead Georgetown on the glass. Akok Akok also has 10.3 PPG with 7.7 RPG to round out the scoring in double figures for Georgetown on the year. As a team, Georgetown is averaging 84.7 PPG on 50.8% shooting from the field, 40.7% from three and 70.2% from the foul line this season.

The Loyola Marymount Lions will hope to rebound from a 79-64 loss to UC-Irvine last time out. Cam Shelton has a team-high 17 PPG to lead the Lions in scoring while also posting 5.3 RPG and 4 APG as well this season. Keli Leaupepe has 14.3 PPG with 5 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer for LMU so far this season. Michael Graham has a team-high 7 RPG and Jalin Anderson’s logging 9.5 PPG and 5 APG to lead the Lions in assists up to this point in the year. As a team, Loyola Marymount is averaging 81.8 PPG on 47% shooting from the field, 33.9% from three and 67.2% from the foul line this season.

Georgetown is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS loss and 9-24 ATS in their last 33 games following a double-digit loss at home while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 games following an ATS loss. Loyola Marymount is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 while the over is 14-3 in their last 17 games overall.

I get why Georgetown’s favored as they’re going to get that name brand bias. However, this Loyola Marymount team is solid and bottom line for me is that I can’t stand Georgetown and I genuinely don’t think this is a good basketball team. All in all, I’ll back LMU with the points while putting a bit on Loyola Marymount ML.

Chris Ruffolo’s Free Pick:
