The unofficial start to the Scheyer Era will kick off today, when the Duke Basketball program hosts their annual Countdown to Craziness festivities in and outside of Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke will be introducing eleven players to fans for the first time publicly, as they replace legendary Hall of Fame Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski with Duke lifer Jon Scheyer in the primary position on the bench.

Coming off a Final Four appearance, the Blue Devils brought in the nation’s highest-ranked recruiting class headline by three of the Top 4 prospects – No. 1 Dereck LivelyNo. 2 Dariq Whiteheadand No. 4 Kyle Filipowski – in addition to three players from the transfer portal – Illinois’ Jacob GrandisonNorthwestern’s Ryan Youngand Harvard’s Kale Catchings. Fellow recruits Mark Mitchell (No. 22 nationally), Tyrese Proctor (No. 27), jadeen schutt (No. 69), and Christian Reeves (No. 140).

jeremy roach and Jaylen Blakes are the two returnees from last year’s roster, with Roach earning honors on the All-ACC Preseason First Team this week.

Today’s celebration doesn’t just begin tonight when the Men’s Basketball players are introduced at 8PM tonight on ACC Network. Here’s the full itinerary today.

Countdown to Craziness features a night of entertainment, games, engaging videos and on-court contests all leading up to the introduction of the 2022-23 Blue Devils, the unveiling of this season’s team poster and the annual Blue-White scrimmage.

The festivities begin at 3:30 pm in Krzyzewskiville, adjacent to Cameron Indoor Stadium, where fans can enjoy various activities, music and games. The Duke players will arrive to Cameron via a Blue Carpet entrance in Krzyzewskiville at 5:45 pm where fans can get pictures and videos of their favorite Blue Devils. Doors to Cameron open at 6 pm, and the annual Blue-White scrimmage is set to tip off at approximately 8:30 pm Fans are encouraged to arrive early to alleviate congestion at the main entrances.

Countdown to Craziness will broadcast live on ACCNX with Chris Edwards on the call, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Live radio coverage can also be heard across the Blue Devil Sports Network from LEARFIELD.

Fans should note the new Clear Bag Policy, that will be in effect this season at Cameron Indoor Stadium, beginning Friday. All bags and purses must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 6″ – including bags for medical and/or childcare needs. Small clutches/wallets (with or without a strap) that fit in the palm of the hand (no larger than 8″ x 5″ x 1″) and one (1)-gallon clear plastic bags are also permitted. Students may bring a hip pack sized bag that is attached to the body and/or wallets/clutches that fit in the palm of the hand.

Duke opens the regular season versus Jacksonville on Monday, Nov. 7 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Prior to the start of the regular season, Duke hosts Fayetteville State in an exhibition game on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 7 pm
